The Creative Incubator: How EchoHouse’s Immersive Program Delivers Genuine Marketing Career Starts For Fresh Graduates.

As industries evolve, so must the minds that drive them. For young talents stepping into the workforce, this lies in the kind of training, structure and mentorship they receive.

That is why EchoHouse, the 360 marketing agency, set up its learning institution, The Echo Academy, to train its team members to stay ahead of trends and developments in marketing.

For fresh university graduates who join EchoHouse and cultivate the desire to build a career path in marketing, the Echo Academy has designed a learning module called The Creative Incubator.

The Creative Incubator is an annual flagship training initiative run by the Echo Academy, designed to provide EchoHouse National Service persons with a smooth transition into full-time creative roles, whether at EchoHouse or the wider marketing industry.

For at least three months of their assigned one-year programme at EchoHouse, the cohort goes through hands-on training that blends creative thinking, strategy, and real client work.

“The goal is to help them build the confidence, mindset, and skills to take on the real world of business in marketing and communication,” Dr Prince Aning, Head of the Echo Academy, said in a statement.

“This year, the program facilitated by Pearl Ahlijah, EchoHouse’s Senior Creative Lead, wrapped up its 3-month training for an 18-member cohort that became a crash course into the creative work world,” he added.

The program, supported by EchoHouse’s industry professionals, covered key concepts, including Ideation, Scoping, Creative Thinking and lessons on Understanding the Marketing Landscape.

Bringing these lessons to life, the cohort was tasked with real client work that involved working on live client briefs received from clients after a visit to each client.

Nyonyo Catering Services, Juki Nut, Ink It, and Shaq Express were participating companies for this year’s training.

The cohort was divided into teams of three to work on these briefs, building on the lessons they had received over the course of the weeks.

Each team had pitched their marketing solutions to all the clients, after which the clients selected which solution from the various presentations they would choose.

The 2025 Incubator training is a strategic approach of Echohouse built on the knowledge that with the right guidance, young creatives can do truly meaningful work.

The 2025 Creative Incubator training is a reinforcement of foresight and unwavering commitment to nurturing young African talent. By blending comprehensive modules with real-world client briefs, the program successfully equipped the cohort with the confidence, mindset, and practical skills needed to thrive in an ever-evolving marketing and communication industry.
