Beryl Agyekum Ayaaba Talks Competitive Strategy With Ashesi Students As A Guest Lecturer

On Friday, 10th of February, the Chief Executive Officer of EchoHouse Ghana Limited , Beryl Agyekum Ayaaba served as a Guest Lecturer at Ashesi University.

Beryl was invited by the Competitive Strategy class at the university to provide a lecture on the topic “Strategy Formulation, Strategy Execution and Monitoring Performance.

As CEO for EchoHouse for more than 13 years, Beryl has led several strategy sessions giving her an impressive record of practical experience on the subject matter.

This invitation from the students was very special for Beryl has she has works closely with students from different countries across the West African region.

Over the years Beryl, through EchoHouse, has been building a strong industry and academia relationship with leading universities in West Africa.

During the Guest Lecture, Beryl provided practical lessons on her approach to strategy in building EchoHouse in terms of setting long term goals and breaking them into achievable short term goals of the business.

Her lecture sought to contextualize the academic approach to strategy within the practical demands of leading strategy and aligning overall organizational goals and objectives to achieving them.

The students at Ashesi seemed to be just the right audience for her as they hung onto her every word and were full of inquisitive questions during the Questions and Answers section of the lecture.

Their questions also posed as an eye opener to Beryl as they provided an indication that students were still eager to learn about the little details that goes into strategy formulation and execution. The students also nitpicked at the some of the points Beryl lectured them on, in a bid to gain the needed practical lessons on strategy formulation, execution and monitoring.
