Kula Perry: Translating Culture With Fashion

The creative force behind the renowned streetwear brand Fear No Man (FNM), Kula Perry is not just a designer but a cultural icon in the Ghanaian fashion space.

His story is inspiring – from being a young entrepreneur with big dreams to becoming a famous fashion icon.

Kula Perry, born Prince Kuleape Boamah, started his fashion journey with a strong belief in self-expression.

He knew that clothes could be a powerful way to express oneself and make a statement leading to a desire to create something unique and inspire people to be bold and fearless.

This led to the birth of his brand, Kulaperry Outlook, which has quickly become synonymous with self-confidence and resilience.

In 2013, Kula Perry officially launched Fear No Man, a streetwear clothing line that blends contemporary fashion with African identity.

The brand quickly gained traction, attracting the attention of celebrities, influencers, and everyday fashion enthusiasts.

Kula Perry did not just stop at designing clothes. He also became a stylist and worked with some of Ghana’s biggest musicians and celebrities.

One of his notable works was styling Sarkodie for his music video “Whine Fi Mi”.

He also worked on the wardrobe for Dr. Cryme and Sarkodie’s “Koko Sakora,” which won Best Hiplife Music Video at the MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards in 2016.

His keen eye for detail and ability to capture the essence of an artist’s persona have made him a sought-after stylist in the entertainment industry.

Kula Perry received numerous awards for his outstanding work in fashion. In 2018, he won the Young Achievers Awards for Brand of the Year and Overall Entrepreneur of the Year.

The following year, he received the Social Media Entertainment Awards. His success continued in 2020 when he won the WAFPA Awards for Best Clothing Brand in Ghana.

In 2021, he was recognized as the Influential Streetwear Brand of the Year at the Tertiary Fashion Awards. Kula Perry’s brand also received the Tema Entertainment Awards for Outstanding Fashion Brand of the Year.

Previously, in 2016, he had won the Africa Youth Choice Awards for Revelation of the Year in Fashion.

In 2022, he was named Fashion Stylist of the Year at the Odartey Style and Fashion Awards and also received the Social Media Entertainment Awards for Fashion Brand of the Year.

Most recently, in 2024, Kula Perry won two more awards, the Ghana Arts Choice & Business Industry Awards for Street Fashion Wear Brand of the Year and the Excellence Achievers and Business Summit award for Celebrity Street Fashion Brand of the Year.

With perseverance and determination, Kula Perry’s hard work paid off, and by 2018, his brand was valued at a quarter of a million dollars.

One of his recent projects was co-authoring a book called “FNMXQ: A Fashion Journal” with Q_TBG.

This project gives readers a unique look at the fashion world through the eyes of two experienced professionals.

Sharing his knowledge and experiences, Kula Perry is helping to inspire and educate the next generation of fashion designers and enthusiasts.

Through his brand, Kulaperry Outlook and clothing line “Fear No Man,” Kula Perry has created a movement that indeed encourages people to be confident and true to themselves through what they wear.
