TMSKDJ, whose real name is Michelle Nana Adwoa Agyakomah Yeboah, began her DJ career in 2013 at a college party. From the start, she expertly mixed house, electronic, Afro-futuristic beats, and traditional Ghanaian rhythms, creating a unique and exciting sound.
In 2015, she made a bold choice to reinvent her brand by performing as a DJ behind a mask. This choice was not about hiding her identity; rather, it was designed to let the music take centre stage. With her mask, TMSKDJ invites the audience to focus on the sound and energy of her sets.
As her recognition grew, TMSKDJ wanted to create a space solely for women, a vibrant, all-female environment where they could come together and have fun. This led to the birth of Girls Brunch. A welcoming space where females can meet, share ideas, and help one another grow.
Despite her dedication to fostering community, TMSKDJ has never stopped DJing. She has performed at significant events, including the Fusion Festival, Afro Nation, Afro Future, and the renowned Chale Wote Street Art Festival. Her live shows are celebrated for their energy and creativity, earning her the House Music DJ of the Year award at the 2024 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards.
Not so long after, she created a creative space for young DJs and emerging artists eager to start their music careers, known as Open House Accra. This place encourages sharing ideas, exploring new creative concepts, and building a supportive community celebrating Ghana’s rich artistic culture.
Today, TMSKDJ continues to perform and inspire. Whether she’s behind the DJ booth at a major festival or curating experiences for other artists to shine, her passion for music remains at the core of everything she does. Her journey illustrates that music is not just about sound; it’s about bringing people together and making a difference.
