A Relaunch Is More Than A New Look: How Guinness Smooth Turned A Product Reveal Into An Immersive Consumer Experience

Consumers at the Guinness Smooth Launch In Nigeria

A product relaunch is often treated as a communications exercise. New packaging is unveiled. New visuals are released. Influencers post about it. Consumers are told that something has changed. But the real challenge is rarely getting people to see the new product. It is getting them to see the brand differently.

At the Guinness Smooth Relaunch in Awka, EchoHouse Nigeria helped the brand demonstrate that simply unveiling new packaging isn't enough to shift perception. By transforming a traditional product presentation into a highly interactive consumer journey, EchoHouse Nigeria successfully bridged the gap between passive brand awareness, active product trial, and direct purchase.

Client & Challenge Refreshing an established product requires overcoming familiar consumer perceptions built over time. Guinness Smooth needed to introduce its bold new look to 300–400 stakeholders, influencers, and guests at Rebooth Luxury Place on September 28, 2025. The core challenge was to move beyond a conventional product reveal—giving consumers a compelling reason to stop, interact, and ultimately connect the refreshed identity with fun and self-expression.

Audience Insight Consumers are more likely to internalize a brand change when they actively participate in it. Instead of forcing guests into a static reveal, the campaign leaned into exploration by designing an activation that served as a genuine interaction point, anchored by an Experience Zone at the entry featuring games, interactive art, and hands-on product engagement.

Strategy & Creative Idea The strategy designed by EchoHouse Nigeria was straightforward: turn visibility into participation, and participation into brand affinity. Guinness Smooth merged its new visual identity with a tangible physical experience. The Experience Zone acted as a central hub where guests could sample the product, contribute to an interactive paint wall, and experience a fashion runway. This seamlessly connected the refreshed product identity with a highly energetic, social environment.

Channels & Execution EchoHouse Nigeria integrated experiential design directly into the venue, ensuring every touchpoint actively guided the consumer journey rather than acting as a disconnected display.

On-Ground Activation: An immersive Experience Zone featuring interactive games, a creative paint wall, and fashion and entertainment programming.

Commerce & Trial: Dedicated sampling bars driving direct product engagement and retail-driven sales.

Amplification: Brand ambassador engagement and comprehensive venue branding (flags, banners, and perimeter visuals) reinforcing the premium positioning.

Markets Covered The campaign was highly localized, focusing exclusively on attendees, influencers, and stakeholders surrounding the Awka relaunch event.

Measurable Outcomes Engagement & Sales: High event turnout and sustained participation within the Experience Zone translated directly into strong on-site product uptake and repeat purchases.

Experience Highlights: The integration of a fashion runway emerged as a major focal point, effectively tying the brand's smooth new identity to lifestyle and culture.

EchoHouse Nigeria Capabilities Involved The campaign highlighted the agency's strong capabilities in Experiential Marketing Strategy, Brand Relaunch Experiences, Consumer Engagement, Product Sampling, Event Production, and Live Entertainment.

The strongest brand relaunches do not just tell consumers what has changed; they let them experience it. By giving guests a space to create, play, and sample, EchoHouse Nigeria and Guinness Smooth turned a familiar product's new look into a memorable interaction that successfully shifted consumer behavior.
